Nan from Virginia requested the Chinese translation for “ember” as in the smoldering remains of a fire, as in…  *think THINK*…  *sigh*…  I give up, yet ANOTHER one I have failed to be clever with.  EMBER…  sheesh, trying to be witty and charming with that request is like trying to write a book while riding a rollercoaster…  *pffffft*

…  where essentially the first character means “excess” and the second character means “ashes.”
