Tom from Colorado requested the Chinese translation for “redemption” as in “seeking to forget makes exile all the longer;  the secret of redemption lies in remembrance”…  Confucious in da HOUSE!…  okay okay, that one’s actually by Richard von Weizsaeker (who?… yeah, I asked that too at first), former President of Germany.

…  where essentially the first character means “to atone for” and the second character means “sin.”
