Phoenix

Nan from Virginia requested the Chinese translation for “phoenix” as in that mythical bird.  Good one, but geezy peezy, how am I supposed to be witty and charming with THAT request??  That’s like trying to catch a flea with a giant sledgehammer!…  *sigh*…  sorry folks, you’ll have to tune in tomorrow to see if I might be able to inject some humor with the next translation…  *crosses fingers*

…  where essentially the first character means “male phoenix” and the second character means “female phoenix.”

Want to see these characters embroidered on a women’s or unisex t-shirt?  Or on a women’s or unisex tank top?  Click the appropriate preceding link.  Got a translation request of your own?  Contact me!

O_____O! OMG! I’m female and my parents gave me the MALE phoenix character!

    (TOT) Uwah…

At least now you have something amusing to connect to this post… ^__^

LOL… well it totally depends on context…

For example, the English word “counterpart” when broken out into “counter” (e.g. kitchen counter, bar counter, etc.) and “part” can mean something totally different individually than when put together as “counterpart.”

SOOO, you might not be too bad off depending on context… for instance, the male phoenix character in this context…
