Lisa from Michigan requested the Chinese translation for “harmony” (also “peace”) as in the following Chinese proverb…

“If there is light in the soul, there will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person, there will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house, there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world”

Holy crapola!!…  there it is, the answer to world peace…  haha…  now if I can only figure out the “meaning of life”…  (besides 42)…  lol.

This same character can also mean “and” or “with”…  but pretty much everything in Chinese is context driven, so if I saw this by itself on a t-shirt or a tattoo, for example, I would presume it to mean “harmony.”  For it to mean “and” I would need to see, for instance, a noun on each side of the character…  ‘nah mean?
