Karma
Victor from Virginia requested the Chinese translation for “karma” as in what the entire TV show “My Name is Earl” is centered around (good show, btw)… “what goes around, comes around”… or from the dictionary, “the effects of a person’s actions that determine his / her destiny”… in short, “cause and effect”… ‘nah mean?
… where essentially you can think of the first character as “effect” and the second character as “cause” in “cause and effect.”

There are so many versions available on the internet of how karma is meant to be written in chinesse. Please let me know the correct interpretation of this word. Thanks…

im thinking of getting a tatoo and im a believer of karma and i was wondering wot the correct symbol is as iv seen so many.

Just as in English, there can be numerous synonyms for a particular word. For example, dad, father, pa, papa, pop… all mean the same thing. Which word or words to use are dependant on context and what you are going for.
Having said that, it’d be easier if you could just point me to the link in question. It would also help to understand the context of how you’d like to use the word, and what you are going for.
Also FYI, in English, we call them words. Similarly, in Chinese, we call them “characters,” not “symbols.”
