Hope

Kellie from California requested the Chinese translation for “hope” as in “hope for the best, but prepare for the worst”…  ’tisn’t that true?…  another mantra I live my life by.

…  where the first character is another one of those characters that typically gets paired up with other characters, and can have multiple meanings depending on context…  and the second character can mean “to look or gaze into the distance.”
