Chef

Will from Virginia requested the Chinese translation for “chef”…  well, because he kicks butt in the kitchen…  or so he keeps telling me…  (I’m still waiting for some proof hoss…  *cough - hint - cough*).

…  where essentially the first character means “big,” the second character means “kitchen,” and the third character can mean “teacher” or “tutor.”  For you kung fu buffs, the last character is pronounced (shi1) using Hanyu Pinyin and is the same (shi1) found in “shifu” or “master.”  The last two characters together basically means “cook.”  So loosely, all three characters translate as “chief cook.”
